“Pal Muse Lumière” is the Japanese, Citizen-branded version of Rhythm’s “CTS Carina” musical motion wall clock released in the mid-2000s. It has a calming motion, as the two sets of bells on either side of the clock face slowly swing back and forth and the decorative Swarovski crystal wheel below continuously rotates. It’s wrapped in a champagne plastic frame with golden chrome details and clear decorative patterned windows. As the music plays, LED lights behind the windows and the rotating wheel under the dial flash along. It plays 6 beautiful J-Pop tunes in Rhythm’s signature Clarion Tone System (CTS) sound.
This clock is radio-controlled, as many Japanese Rhythm clocks are, but the radio-control function will only work in Japan. So, you will have to set the time manually by pressing and holding the buttons on the back.
Notes: The songs on this clock are truly stunning…it has some of the most beautiful arrangements ever featured on a musical clock. Also, the “Silent Step DX” second hand is very satisfying to watch. That being said, there are some scuffs on the mirrored gold trim, but they aren’t noticeable unless a light is shining directly on them…it was very difficult to take photos of them since they are relatively difficult to see. The case also has a few other very small marks around the plastic, along with some minor rusting on the bottom right battery spring. Please see the photos for a closer look.
