The Giambologna Mercury Statue in Bronze, create in 1580, decorated the Villa Medici in Rome until 1780, where it was placed by Ferdinando de’ Medici, on top of the fountain in the middle of the staircase between the sumptuous gardens and the loggia entrance to the Villa.

The Mercury is one of the most famous and most replicated sculptures by Mannerist sculptor Giambologna, and was designed to be viewed from all sides. The Artist created it while the God soars supported by the other God Zephyrus.

Please note there can be slight differences between the color of the item you receive and the pictures on the website due to the handmade nature of the product. The important thing to note is that the patina is not a paint but a very thin conversion coat on the surface of the bronze. Hot-cast bronze at 1,850°F (1,010°C)
