Every Ship's Bell 6-inch luxury desk clock has a forged brass case that resists saltwater corrosion and tarnish. Using an eleven-jewel German mechanical movement and 290 precision brass internal parts, this clock keeps precision time with easy winding using the included key. It uses rich yet gentle chimes abiding by the mariner watch code. You'll hear eight chimes at four, eight and twelve o'clock to signal the end of the watch. For each following half-hour, the clock counts upward with one chime, two chimes, etc. until the next four-hour mark. Behind the hinged bezel is a hand-silvered dial and gracefully curving black Arabic numerals to track time visually.
